The Suicide King
The Suicide King is a spell that is often used by lower-level spellcasters to combat more powerful warriors. It’s a risky move at best, however if it works it is certain to add an element of fear to the PCs should your NPCs use it. Also, it makes an excellent prize for and arcane PC. There’s nothing that a wizard likes more than to find a spell that is not in any official spell list, to add it to his collection. Ideally, a wizard will be using this spell with a cleric nearby, or some other means of healing himself at his disposal.

To use this spell, the caster is required to make a sacrifice, to use his own life force to power the effect. The spell cuts the caster open and bleeds him, pulling out his blood and converting it into pure manna. The translates to removing half of the caster’s current hit points, rounded up. As such, most casters wait until very late in the combat, where the effects of this spell are minimal. If the target fails his will save, he immediately takes his next action and attacks himself. The target automatically hits, but this attack is not counted as a coup de grace, so damage must still be rolled.
Arcane Focus: The King of Hearts from a normal deck of cards.
