The caster of this spell must designate a direction and distance, which cannot exceed the range of this spell, upon casting. The targeted creature is immediately moved that distance in the chosen direction. The effects of this spell may be disorienting, but otherwise has no in game effect upon the creature that is teleported. The space must be unoccupied, and free of any obstructions such as a wall. This spell is most commonly used to throw an opponent into some manner of trap, perhaps a pit of spikes or an ambush where he will be flanked. It can be a very powerful asset for NPCs, and it can be very disorienting for the players. Tactical geniuses tend to hire wizards who can cast this spell, using them to mess with their opponent’s delicate strategies. This spell can only move a creature across horizontally, relative to the caster, with “down” being designated as the prominent source of gravity. In places with negligible or zero gravity, there is no “down” designated, so the caster may chose his own.
