The Gonadra
A creature of destruction, the unique Gonadra is an ancient dragon hailing from the elemental plane of fire. The Gonadra’s history is vague, though ancient portraits and carvings depict its presence since the earliest known civilizations. The Gonadra hops through dimensions, bringing havoc and death to whatever nation it shows up in before moving on. Entire cities are left burning, with thousands of corpses littering the once fertile fields. Perhaps the only consolation for those who face The Gonadra is that their attacker tends not to stay in one plane for long, a day or two at the most. The legend states that The Gondra is hunted by an ancient lich wizard of incomparable power. According to legend, The Gondra once served the lich wizard. Whether the lich managed to summon and enslave The Gonadra or if this wizard actually constructed the legendary creature, somehow The Gonadra was forced into service to this mighty spellcaster. Yet The Gonadra, in a moment of his master’s weakness, fled, leaving the dimension in hopes of outrunning his slaver. Now they run through the dimensions not unlike a greyhound and convict, the lich king hunts down his former servant, always trying to pick up its trail. The Gonadra jumps from world to world, trying to bring as much destruction and chaos as possible before fleeing again. Those who face The Gonadra’s wrath and live would be wise to flee, lest they face a foe that even this legendary dragon fears.
On occasion, a desperate wizard will dare to lure The Gonadra to his world in an attempt to save himself or his people. Such an action, while it may save the enchanter from his enemies, then brings him an even more powerful and malevolent opponent. The only hope that he has is to capitalize on The Gonadra’s love of chaos and death, and pray that The Gonadra finds killing his opponents entertaining for long enough to flee for his life.
