The Royal Harness
The Royal Harness is a relatively recent magical innovation. It was created when a gnomish city was at war with a far more powerful nation. In desperation, they created a device that would drastically increase the power of their army, without caring about any side effects of the device.
The Harness is a complex series of golden and copper wired and hoops, running from the wearer’s neck to their ankles. Securing a Harness takes five rounds. The hoops on The Harness are secured on, and take up, the following slots: both rings, the belt and the necklace. When the command word is spoken, the user gets the following benefits: A +4 enchantment bonus to strength, their base attack bonus is adjusted as though they were two levels higher and one temporary hit point per a level. However, every round the user must make a fortitude check at DC 15+the number of rounds spent using The Harness. If the save is failed, the user takes 1d8 constitution damage. The DC goes down at a rate of one per a day spent without using the harness.
