Ring of Life Saving

This twisted silver ring is decorated with a blue gemstone. A Ring of Life Saving is designed to do exactly what it sounds like, namely protect the user from dangerous situations. Inside the stone are a number of spells that activate whenever a specific condition is met. This item was originally designed by a frustrated wizard who felt that memorizing protection spells that he rarely used, but was too paranoid to go without them. To open up more spell slots he created this magic item, designed to protect him from even the most unusual threats.

A Ring of Life Saving has the following spells, with the indicated number of charges of each. The stone begins to lose its color as charges are used up, until it is finally nothing more than a lump of black granite. The user cannot activate the spells himself, they are only cast once their activation clause is met.

Water Breathing, one charge. Activation clause: When the wearer is fully submersed in a liquid. Caster level: 5th

Feather Fall, three charges. Activation clause: When the wearer calls for twenty or more feet. Caster level: 5th

Quickened Resist Elements, two charges. Activation clause: When the wearer become conscious that he is about to be damaged by an energy attack that Resist Elements can ignore. The type of energy that is resisted is the same as what the caster is being attacked with. Caster Level: 6th

Quickened Shield, two charges. Activation clause: When the wearer is targeted with a Magic Missile Spell. Caster Level: 5th
