The caster touches a single corpse upon completion of the spell. The corpse is thrown off the plane of existence it is currently on, vanishing immediately. 1d4 weeks later the corpse ends up on a random plane of existence. Many casters use this spell to keep their enemies from conveniently being raised from the dead.
Note that the gear does not also vanish.
