The target of the spell takes 1d6 fire damage per a caster level. In addition, each additional round the caster may take a full round action to maintain the spell for an additional round. To do so, the caster must sacrifice a spell slot of at least fifth level. There is no limit to the number of times the caster can do this, but maintaining the spell provokes an attack of opportunity. If the caster is hit during the round where he is maintaining the spell, he must make a concentration check to maintain the spell, just as though he was still casting it. If he fails, the spell ends just as though it were interrupted.
