Glabrons
Glabrons look like animated pools of blood, but they are in fact an intelligent, diverse race. Glabrons live deep underground, usually in pockets beneath the surface of the earth. Humanoids rarely encounter them, and the few they have encountered tend to be evil ones that yearn for power and wealth, so many mistakenly believe that all Glabrons are corrupt.
Glabron society is very family-oriented, with as many as twenty living together in one dwelling. Glabrons mate mainly for companionship, and their society has no concept of sex. Glabrons reproduce when they have repeated physical contact with another, the male Glabron passing genetic material merely by holding its mate. A female Glabron can give birth to as many as ten children (though she can only reproduce once in her life.)
Glabrons originally did not have names, they referred to each other with a combination of pronouns and relational nouns (brother, sister, etc.) However, once discovering the concept from interacting with humanoids, Glabrons have taken great delight in giving themselves names. Glabron names tend to be strange, long and elaborate, like “Bogoratanamon.”
Glabrons are carnivorous, but mostly hunt only small, burrowing mammals. Only a few have had the ambition, or the appetite, to eat a human.
Glabron language is a series of supersonic bursts, the same as their echolocation. Glabrons can imitate and learn humanoid languages.

Burning Touch: Any creature that Glabron hits with a slam attack can (at the digression of the Glabron) be affected by its burning touch. The creature hit takes an additional 1d8 fire damage.
Attach: If a Glabron hits with a slam attack, it may attempt to attach itself to the creature. This requires a grapple attack (the Glabron gets a +4 bonus for this type of grapple.) If it succeeds, it is attached to the creature. The Glabron can be removed with a strength check, rolled against the Glabron, or by a successful grapple check. An attached Glabron has an AC of 20. Every round the Glabron maintains the grapple, it deals 1d8 fire damage and drains 1d2 con. The Glabron heals five hit points for every point of con it drains.
Body Steal: A Glabron can incorporate itself into the body of a freshly dead corpse of a humanoid creature by passing into the blood. To do this, the corpse must be mostly intact. This action takes a full round. Once the Glabron is in the body, it can repair minor damage (such as flesh wounds, even if an organ is pierced) but cannot repair bone. Once the Glabron is done, it can restart the heart. At that point it is able to manipulate the body and for all intents and purposes appears to be a normal human. If the body is dealt more than thirty points of damage while the Glabron is wearing it, it falls apart and becomes unusable. Any damage dealt to the body is also done to the Glabron. A Glabron’s fast healing applies to the body it is wearing, though it can voluntarily decide not to heal itself to avoid detection. Some have used this as a way to impersonate specific individuals, while others have stolen or bought bodies just to fit into human society.
