A medium-sized, floating, colored symbol appears in the air floating slightly above the ground, within a ten foot radius of the caster. The symbol acts as a defense for the caster, protecting him from many threats.

Any ranged attack (including rays) that would go through the Seal of Defense’s five-foot space hit the Seal of Defense instead. If the attack would not have hit its target, the attack is harmless to the Seal. If the attack would have hit the target, the seal is hit instead. Attacks aimed specifically at The Seal use The Seal’s AC. The Seal is considered to be a creature with an AC of 15+the caster’s relevant ability modifier, a strength of 20, a speed of 20 and 1d4 hit points per a level of the caster.

A Seal of Defense can attempt to make a reflex save to block any ranged attack that passes within five feet of itself, with a +5 bonus and a DC of what the attacker rolled to hit. Generally, the Seal only does this for attacks aimed at its master, though if ordered to by its master, it will do this for others as well.

If a spell with a “line” area strikes the Seal, the line ends where the seal is.

A Seal of Defense has no attacks, it is purely a defensive creature. It can take simple commands from its master, where to go (within ten feet of its master), what to block, but anything more complicated is beyond its ability to understand. If the Seal is destroyed, it vanishes.
