Blind Crowlers

Blind Crowlers are horrors that lurk in the night, usually followed by a shroud of mist. They hunt for food and pleasure, and unusually enough for creatures of their intelligence, they hunt for revenge. If they are injured, if their eggs are harmed, or if they feel wronged in any way, they will continuously stalk the creature that did it.

Despite their chaotic nature, Blind Crowlers have very strong family ties. The healthy care for the sick, the young care for the old, and middle aged members look after children. Blind Crowlers have even been known to sacrifice themselves to save others in their family, either by fighting off enemies, or going without food when it is scarce.

Blind Crowlers look humanoid, but with grey skin, no eyes, flat noses, sharp teeth and long, black tangled hair. They are known to scream and hiss at their enemies to induce fear, making them easier to track.

Negative Energy Strike: When a Blind Crowler hits a creature with its slam attack, the creature gains one negative level. DC to remove is 20.

Poison: Injury, DC to resist 20, initial and secondary damage paralysis.

Obscuring Mist: As the spell, a Blind Crowler can cast this as an 18th level sorcerer at will.

Flurry Strike: A Blind Crowler can sacrifice its dexterity bonus to AC for a round, and exchange can make four slam attacks instead of two, at +12/+7/+2/+2.

Blind: Blind Crowlers are blind, and as such as immune to illusions, along with all other obvious effects.

Aura of Fear: Any creature that can see a Blind Crowler and is within twenty feet of the Blind Crowler must make a save against fear (DC 20) for every round it can see the Crowler, and is within twenty feet. If the creature fails, it takes a -2 to all rolls for a round.

Fear Tracking: Blind Crowlers track through scent, and can follow prey for miles by their smell alone. In addition, in combat Blind Crowlers always know how many enemies they are fighting, and roughly how large they are and where they are. Blind Crowlers know exactly where creatures that fail against its Aura of Fear are, removing any chance of missing due to blindness. If the creature succeeds at the save, the Blind Crowler must make a survival check, DC 20+however much the creature exceeded the fear save by. Success means the Blind Crowler knows where the creature is, and can attack it normally. Failure means the Blind Crowler is subject to the normal 50% miss chance.

Immunity to Flanking: So long as a Blind Crowler is not caught flat footed, it is immune to flanking.
