Freintz, The Prison Assassin

Freintz is a mysterious assassin who specializes in breaking into prisons and killing key prisoners. No one knows exactly where he came from, or what he really looks like. In fact, the only real information about Freintz has come from the killer himself, who has become known for leaving elaborate, detailed notes at the scenes of his crimes, in an envelope with a red wax seal with the imprint of a heart. Freintz’s first known crime was an assassination on a low-level thief who was captured from a thieves’ guild. Freintz was hired to kill him by the thieves’ guild, who received information that their former member planned on trading the names of their leaders for his freedom. This is where his name was discovered, as the signature at the bottom of the note. Freintz is known for having particularly bad handwriting, and it took three notes to actually be able to read his full name.

It is unknown if Freintz takes on any other assassinations. Several copycats have been identified, hoping to cash in on his reputation. Freintz has taken no action to stop these copycats. His letters detail long descriptions of what he sees as beautiful, and occasionally have brief narratives from his own daily routine. There has been no hint of a higher agenda or demands.

Freintz’s favorite trick is to break into a prison and impersonate a prisoner of guard. He prefers not to kill the original, who serves as an excellent distraction if he ever has to break out. He has only ever been seen without a doubt once, and even then he was in disguise. He has no qualms about killing the innocent, but usually he is undetected until he has long escaped the facility.
